WATCH: Andrew Garfield Explains Ryan Reynolds Kiss, Makes Out with Stephen Colbert
Andrew Garfield isn’t afraid of kissing other men.
Just days after the Hacksaw Ridge star shared a passionate kiss with Ryan Reynolds after Ryan Gosling took home the award for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy at the 2017 Golden Globes, Garfield appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert to explain the lip-lock that was seen around the world.
“I just wanted Ryan to know that I loved him no matter whether he won or lost,” Garfield told host Stephen Colbert. “It doesn’t matter. It’s how you play the game and you showed up. He gave his all. It doesn’t change anything in my heart.”
Reynolds, who is sometimes mistaken for Gosling, was nominated alongside the La La Land actor in the category. During Gosling’s acceptance speech, he poked fun at the common misconception, saying, “This isn’t the first time I’ve been mistaken for Ryan Reynolds, but it’s getting out of hand.”
After defending his decision to share a smooch with the Deadpool actor, Garfield continued to spread the love by planting a wet one on Colbert.
“Not everybody is comfortable [kissing men],” Colbert said, before leaning in for a kiss. “You’re a very gentle lover.”
