Four Suspects Charged in Kim Kardashian’s Robbery Case
Four men who the cops believe were involved with Kim Kardashian’s Paris robbery have been officially charged.
A 63-year-old man only identified as Yunice A. was charged alongside three other culprits on Thursday (Jan. 12, 2017) in connection to the crime, reports TMZ. The suspects are now facing armed robbery in an organized gang, kidnapping and criminal association charges. French authorities have also requested they stay in police custody for the time being.
According to French network TF1/LCI, several of the 17 arrested suspects confessed to their involvement with the crime. The network reports that police have identified six individuals — five alleged robbers ranging from ages 54 to 72 and a sixth accomplice in a getaway car — linked to the October jewel heist.
The new comes after seven out of the 17 suspects arrested — including Kardshian’s chauffeur, Michael Madar — were released from police custody on Wednesday. Gary Madar, the 27-year-old brother of the chauffeur, has not been released due to suspicion that the robbery was an inside job. It is unclear if Madar is one of the four men charged.
As previously reported, Kardashian was bound, gagged and held at gunpoint in her hotel room on Oct. 3, 2016 as masked men made off with more than $10 million worth of jewelry.
Though a diamond cross pendant has been recovered, the whereabouts of Kardashian’s $4 million engagement ring is still unknown. Two men identified as Aomar A-K. and Marceau B. are suspected of traveling to Belgium’s Antwerp diamond district to sell the diamond.
Kardashian is currently in Dubai preparing for her first celebrity appearance since the theft.
