Nicole Kidman Wants You to Support Donald Trump

Unlike Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman is okay with Donald Trump becoming the next President of the United States.

In a recent sit-down with BBC2, the Oscar winner, who holds dual citizenship in Australia and the United States, urged people to have faith in the president-elect. Though many have blasted Trump for his bombastic behavior in the past, Kidman seemingly threw her support for the reality star-turned-politician in the interview.

“I just say, [Trump is] now elected, and we, as a country, need to support whoever’s the president because that’s what the country’s based on,” the Lion star said. “Whatever, however that happened, he’s there and let’s go.”

Admitting that she’s “always reticent to start commenting politically,” Kidman added that she’s more focused on issues rather than the candidate itself.

“I’m very, very committed to women’s issues, in terms of I do a lot of fundraising for U.N. Women and I do a lot of traveling for them,” Kidman said. “I also do an enormous amount of fundraising for breast and ovarian cancer, because that’s something that’s affected my family deeply. So they’re my issues that I’m very attached to.”

According to recent report, the GOP is planning to defund Planned Parenthood, a nonprofit organization that provides women’s health services to many Americans, as an effort to repeal Obamacare.
