Omnipotent TV Series ‘The Simpsons’ Also Predicted Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl Halftime Show
Last November, we were stunned to find out that The Simpsons predicted Donald Trump’s presidential nomination. Now it’s been proven that they illustrated Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl LI halftime show over four years ago, too.
Several Twitter users pointed out the similarities between the mechanics of Gaga’s Super Bowl halftime show and the details of “Lisa Goes Gaga,” a Season 23 episode of The Simpsons, at the end of her performance. In “Lisa Goes Gaga,” the cartoon version of Lady Gaga visits Springfield on her way to a concert, where she enters the venue suspended by a harness and performs in a platinum unitard.
Similarly, the sky in The Simpsons was decorated with an illuminated outline of a cowboy hat whereas the space above the Super Bowl’s NRG Stadium was speckled with drones in the shape of the American flag.
The cowboy hat is also reminiscent of the cover of Gaga’s Joanne album.
Previously, The Simpsons accurately predicted the creation of Apple Watches, the tiger attack on Siegfried and Roy, that Bengt Holmström of MIT would win the Nobel Prize for Economics in 2016, among other events. What will they think of next?
