Johnny Depp Is So Close to Connecting His Homes with an Underground Tunnel System, But There’s One Problem
Rumor has it that Johnny Depp is close to achieving his goal of connecting all of the homes on his private compound with an underground tunnel system, but there’s one issue that’s standing in his way.
According to Us Weekly, Depp owns five out of six neighboring homes in his Hollywood Hills cul-de-sac. “He’s been buying them up over the years,” an insider tells the magazine. “He wanted to build a gate to stop the tour buses from coming up there.”
Depp wishes to connect them with an underground tunnel, but the person in the sixth house refuses to sell it to him.
“Johnny has offered him everything,” the source tells Us.
While this plan might seem entirely extravagant (and unnecessary), Depp’s elaborate tunnel plan falls in line with his spending habits that have been a subject of legal controversy. Depp recently sued his former business managers for alleged financial misconduct. They filed a countersuit against him in response, claiming that he spent about $2 million dollars a month — a lifestyle he “simply could not afford.” The business managers itemized a few examples of his most outrageous expenses such as $3 million to “blast from a specially made cannon the ashes of author Hunter S. Thompson over Aspen, Colorado.”
