Kris Jenner Talks Kim Kardashian’s ‘Devastating’ Robbery as Crime Scene Photos Emerge

Kris Jenner broke down in tears when she first saw footage of Kim Kardashian recalling her Paris robbery.

On Monday’s episode (Feb. 20, 2017) of Ellen DeGeneres’ show, the 61-year-old revealed she cried when she watched scenes from the upcoming 13th season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, in which will detail the aftermath of the heist. For Jenner, she couldn’t get through the entire episode because seeing Kardashian retell how she was bound, gagged and robbed at gunpoint was simply too “upsetting” for the matriarch.

“The first episode you’re going to see is when the girls were in Miami, doing something with the Dash stores, and then the Paris incident happened,” Jenner told DeGeneres. “It was devastating.”

“Nobody can even get through the first five minutes without being hysterical,” she continued. “I get choked up just thinking about it and talking about it. But it’s remarkable to listen to [Kim] tell the story.”

As previously reported, Kardashian was robbed of more than $10 million in jewelry last October when armed men broke into her hotel room during Paris Fashion Week. In a Keeping Up with the Kardashians teaser released last month, Kardashian tearfully addressed her robbery, telling her family that she thought the robbers were “going to shoot me in the back.”

Since then, 10 people were charged in connection with the crime. Just this weekend, photos from the crime scene emerged online.

According to Jenner, Kardashian decided to share the experience with viewers to “bring some awareness” and help people understand how the harrowing incident changed the way the family lives.

“When we started filming again and started getting up and running, obviously Kim was around because we all practically live together on the same street,” she said. “We started filming and what was coming out of that was very therapeutic for her, I think, to just explain to us and walk us through [the robbery].”

“It’s just riveting. I was watching it and I was bawling when I saw it,” Jenner added of the footage. “I just saw some of it. I couldn’t even watch the whole thing. It was such an upsetting time. … It chokes me up every time I think about it.”

Keeping Up With the Kardashians returns on E! March 5 at 9 PM ET.
