Amber Tamblyn and David Cross’ Daughter Has a VERY Unique Name
The couple just welcomed a daughter together and the baby’s supposed name cannot be any more perplexing. Tamblyn revealed the unique moniker on her Instagram alongside a video of her new bundle of joy.
“David and I are proud to announce the birth of our daughter, Dauphinoise Petunia Brittany Scheherazade Von Funkinstein Mustard Witch RBG Cross Tamblyn-Bey jr. #TheFutureIsFemale,” she wrote.
For those who aren’t foodies, “Dauphinoise” is actually a French term for a dish of sliced potatoes baked in milk, cream and cheese. Meanwhile, “Scheherazade” is the name of a character in One Thousand and One Nights.
RBG most likely stands for Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Bey is undoubtedly a nod to Beyoncé. Seeing how Cross is actually a comedian, we’re guessing the parents are just poking fun at the concept of ridiculous baby names. (But to be fair, who doesn’t want to name their kid after Queen Bey?)
Tamblyn first announced the pregnancy in October when she penned an op-ed piece for Glamour about the election. Explaining the need for mothers to be strong role models for their children, the actress wrote, “Motherhood has been heavily on my mind because I am going to be a mother soon. I’m pregnant, with a daughter on the way. I think constantly about the world I am bringing her into … How much do I have to do, as a daughter and a soon-to-be mother, to change not just the conversation about how women are seen, but the language with which conversations are spoken in?”
Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants star Blake Lively gushed about the happy news at the time, sharing on Instagram, “‘I am asking you to rethink women, period. Go deep. See the frame that holds the big picture…’ So proud of my dear friend, and new mama to be, @AmberRoseTamblyn.”
This is the first child for Tamblyn and Cross. The new parents married in 2012 after four years of dating.
