Tarek El Moussa Explains Why He Was Armed with a Gun When Officials Responded to Police Call at His Home
Christina and Tarek addressed the incident that occurred at their home back in May 2016 when police responded to “a call of a possibly suicidal male with a gun” at their home in Orange County in separate interviews on Tuesday (Feb. 21, 2017).
“In the end, we’re just normal, nice people who just want to be the best parents,” Christina said, adding that their daughter Taylor just won an award “for being joyful” at school.
“So just shows our kids are transitioning well,” Christina asserted. “Tarek and I are friends.”
Tarek joined Joe Fryer on Today to share his rationale behind their decision to part ways.
“As time went on, we got distant from each other. There’s a lot going on in our lives,” Tarek said. “We tried the counseling and it just really wasn’t working.”
He added that the reports about what happened during his fight with Christina involving police “got really blown out of proportion.”
“There’s mountain lions and bobcats and rattlesnakes and big wildlife back there,” Tarek said of the area behind his home. “I went up for a hike to scout some trails. It wasn’t a big deal. I didn’t understand.”
When asked if he was suicidal, as indicated by previous reports, Tarek replied, “Absolutely never.”
The father-of-two also commented on their experience filming Season 7.
“I’m not going to say it’s easy. It’s like anything. There’s challenges in life. We love filming. That’s our job. We’ve been doing it a long time,” he said. “We love releasing a good product for our fans and just had to fight through it and do the best we could and I think it turned out great.”
