Beyoncé Will Not Be Performing at Coachella in 2017

Following the advice of her doctor, Beyoncé, who is pregnant with twins, will not be performing at Coachella this spring.

Parkwood Entertainment and Coachella’s producer Goldenvoice issued a statement on Thursday (Feb. 23, 2017) regarding Beyoncé’s decision to drop out of her headlining spot in the festival’s lineup. The good news is that she will return to perform at Coachella next year in 2018.

“Following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months, Beyoncé has made the decision to forgo performing at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival,” the statement said. “However, Goldenvoice and Parkwood are pleased to confirm that she will be a headliner at the 2018 festival. Thank you for your understanding.”

The festival producers have yet to announce who will replace Beyoncé as this year’s headliner. The Lemonade singer was set to perform on April 15 and April 22. It would have been her first time taking the Coachella stage and it she would have been the first female act to headline the festival since Bjork in 2007.

Radiohead, Kendrick Lamar, Lorde, Future, and DJ Khaled are among the roster of artists that are still set to perform.
