Kourtney Kardashian is all about healthy eating.

The mom-of-three, who was spotted taking her son Mason to an art class in Los Angeles this week, recently took to her app to dish about her detox diet. According to the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, she’s obsessed with eating beets as a way to “neutralize toxins in the liver and help eliminate them from the body.”

Kardashian claimed the root vegetable has “anti-cancer benefits” and packed with “anti-inflammatory molecules that are said to reduce the risk of breast, colon, stomach and lung cancer.”

“If you’re doing a health cleanse or juice diet, beets are a highly efficient ingredient to include—but you have to make sure you don’t cook them too long. Since beets can lose their most important benefits if overcooked, experts say it’s best to chop them (leaving skins on) and steam for 15 minutes or less,” she wrote. “I like to add steamed beets to salad and I always try to include fresh beets whenever I’m at a juice bar.”

In fact, the 37-year-old loves beets so much that she even uses its bright red color as a dye. She shared, “Also, since beets are highly pigmented, I use them as an all-natural for dye when I make play-dough with the kids.”
