Ellen DeGeneres Accidentally Dislocates Her Finger After Having Two Glasses of Wine

Ellen DeGeneres Shuts Down Divorce Rumors: 'I'm Not Going Anywhere'
Things couldn't be better for Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi!

Ouch! Ellen DeGeneres revealed on her talk show Tuesday (March 21, 2017) that she recently dislocated her finger after a dinner party with friends.

Admitting she drank two glasses of wine that night, the 59-year-old said she injured her hand when she was returning home with wife Portia de Rossi.

“Portia and I were coming home from a dinner party,” she explained. “[We] drive home, almost at the front door, literally like at the door. The dogs were so excited to see us, and I just caught the lip of the top step. I was like a foot away from the door and I fell into the door.”

DeGeneres knew she had to go to the emergency room when she noticed her wedding ring finger was bent crooked from her stumble. “I knew something was wrong, she said, before joking, “My first thought was no big deal Obamacare will cover this.”

“So, Portia drove me to the hospital—to the emergency room—and when I got there, of course, the receptionist had so many things for me to sign: a picture for her nephew, a t-shirt for her,” she quipped. “They were wonderful.”

While the nurses at the UCLA Medical Center were pleasant, DeGeneres noted that the experience was quite painful when it came time to put the dislocated bone back into place.

“There was burning, alright. The stuff—whatever numbs you—they should make that different because, oh my god,” she shared. “Burning followed by cursing is what happened. Think of any curse word. Just think of any curse word, and I said that. I invented three new ones actually.”

She added, “It was a hard weekend for me, but I put on a brave face.”
