Nick Jonas and the ‘Jumanji’ Remake Lead Today’s Star Sightings

Sorry, ’90s kids. The Jumanji reboot will not include a board game.

As revealed in a teaser at Sony’s CinemaCon panel on Monday (March 28, 2017), the upcoming film will center around a video game — as opposed to the board game from the original 1995 cult classic — that traps its players.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the preview showed four teenagers who find an old video game console while cleaning their high school’s basement as part of their detention. When they play the game, the teens are transported into the bodies of adult avatars.

Titled Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, the reboot stars Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Karen Gillan and Nick Jonas, who all attended the press event to promote the flick.

“There’s a reason there’s not a lot of information,” Black said of co-star Jonas’ mysterious character. “It’s a minefield of spoiler alerts.”

The film is due out Dec. 22.
