John Legend Defends Kim Kardashian Choice to Have a ‘High-Risk Pregnancy’

Kim Kardashian is going to do whatever it takes to have a third child with husband Kanye West.

In a new clip for an upcoming episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, the mom-of-two revealed to her family about her surgery plans to repair her uterus in preparation for another pregnancy.

“I’ve decided I’m going to try to have one more baby,” she told Kris Jenner and Khloé Kardashian. “Isn’t that exciting?”

“It’ll still be a really high-risk pregnancy just to be able to get pregnant,” added Kim, who dealt with complications with her placenta when she was pregnant with North West and had difficulties conceiving Saint West.

“I don’t want you to, like, do anything risky,” Corey Gamble cautioned, as Kris and Khloé made disapproving faces.

“Having more kids is definitely going to be a struggle,” Kim explained in another scene. “I’ve gone through so much with really bad deliveries that the doctors don’t feel like it’s safe for me to conceive again myself.”

“I want my kids to have siblings, and I want to know I did everything that I could to make this happen,” she continued.

Family friend John Legend defended Kim’s choice when one Twitter user made a distasteful joke about her predicament. Sharing a link to an article about the matter, political consultant Stuart Stevens, who was Mitt Romney’s strategist during his 2012 presidential campaign, tweeted, “Sometimes it seems the Chinese might have been on to something.”

Presuming Stevens was referencing China’s One Child Policy, a government mandate that restricts citizens to only having child per family in order to curb population growth, Legend fired back. “That was pretty awful. Shame on you,” the “Love Me Now” singer wrote.

As previously reported, Legend and his wife, Chrissy Teigen, also had fertility problems of their own before welcoming daughter Luna in 2016.

Stevens has yet to respond to Legend.
