WATCH: Jennifer Lopez Remembers the Moment Involving Cobb Salad that Kicked Off Her Relationship with Alex Rodriguez

Jennifer Lopez recalls the lunch that kicked off her new romance with former baseball player Alex Rodriguez.

Ellen DeGeneres grills Lopez about her new relationship with Rodriguez on Monday’s episode of Ellen. DeGeneres begins by asking how they first met.

“It’s very simple,” says Lopez. “I was having lunch somewhere and I saw him. He passed by. Afterward, I went outside, but for some reason, I felt like tapping him on the shoulder and said, ‘Hi.’”

DeGeneres digs to discover that Lopez was eating a Cobb salad (dressing on the salad) and tortilla soup just before she approached Rodriguez. After they connected, they talked about living in Los Angeles, and he eventually asked her out on a date.

“He texted me, said, ‘Let’s go out to dinner,’ and I said, ‘Okay,’” Lopez recalls. “We had a nice dinner.”

Lopez’s 9-year-old twins Max and Emme popped in on the interview with DeGeneres. Emme matched her mom and sat on her lap while Max decided that he’d rather hang out in a secret hiding spot. Watch the video below to see their cute appearance on Ellen.
