The Cast of ‘Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants’ Reunited, and It Feels So Good
The gang’s all here!
More than 10 years since they joined forces on the movie adaptation of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Blake Lively, Alexis Bledel, Amber Tamblyn and America Ferrara proved that friendship is forever when they reunited at the premiere of Paint It Black in New York City on Monday (May 15, 2017).
Coming together to support Tamblyn’s directorial debut, Lively and Bledel joined their gal pal on the red carpet. “It’s so funny because some of us having nothing in common,” Tamblyn joked to People. “Even just Blake and I, her understanding of fashion is beyond me and I’m constantly texting her pictures like, ‘Should I wear this?’”
Though Ferrera couldn’t make it to the screening, she made sure to pop by at the after-party, hosted by Svedka, at FISHBOWL in Dream Midtown.
“Can you see my heart bursting out of my body? I love being with my sisters especially when it’s to celebrate the badassery of the pants,” she wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of the quartet. “@amberrosetamblyn directed her stunning first film, Paint It Black, which comes out this Friday! The Sisterhood came out last night to celebrate her enormous talents. We are beyond proud and glowing for her.”
The foursome have been close friends since starring in the 2005 teen film and its 2008 sequel, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. Though there are no official plans for another follow-up, Lively said in 2016 “there’s a strong chance there might be a third.”
“The four of us are still best friends. To be able to create something together again has always been a dream of ours,” she said during an episode of The Jess Cagle Interview. “But it would have to be something that really made sense … If you wait this long to do a third movie, it needs to honor the story and the legacy.”
