Kirsten Dunst Crying at Cannes Leads Today’s Star Sightings

Kirsten Dunst’s visit to this year’s Cannes Film Festival has been an emotional one.

The actress got a little teary-eyed posing on the red carpet with The Beguiled co-stars Nicole Kidman, Elle Fanning and Colin Farrell, eventually breaking down as she made her way into the theater. According to onlookers, the 35-year-old simply got overwhelmed by the star-studded affair and couldn’t contain her emotions.

Wearing a periwinkle A-line gown, Dunst was seen being comforted by director Sofia Coppola before joining her castmates on the steps for a final group shot.

“She was always a good influence on me as a young woman,” she said of Coppola, who she also worked with in 1999’s The Virgin Suicides, in a recent Variety article. “She gave me confidence in little things that I wouldn’t necessarily have had.”
