DeMario Jackson Threatens to Take Legal Action as Cast Member Claims Corinne Olympios Is Lying About Pool Tryst
Things are getting ugly in the Bachelor in Paradise sex scandal.
Just hours after Corinne Olympios hired an attorney amid the ongoing investigation into an alleged sexual assault on the set of the ABC show, DeMario Jackson threatened to take his own legal action to protect his name.
“It’s unfortunate that my character and family name has been assassinated this past week with false claims and malicious allegations,” he told Us Weekly. “I will be taking swift and appropriate legal action until my name is cleared and, per the advice of legal counsel, will be seeking all available remedies entitled to me under the laws.”
DeMario may be lawyering up because he believes Corinne consented to their sexual encounter. According to TMZ, another Bachelor in Paradise cast member is backing his claims that Corinne was not drunk and even instigated the tryst, which happened in a swimming pool at a Mexican resort where the cast had been filming.
Sources told the outlet a female cast member witnessed the incident, saying Corrine — contrary to what a field producer alleged — was “very with it” and that she even yelled out a passerby’s name to get their attention. The co-star allegedly saw Corinne take her top off and her legs wrap her legs around DeMario in the pool. She added heard Corinne talk about the hook-up the next day, though the Bachelor alum never spoke about it being non-consensual.
However, Corinne claimed she suffered ” physical and emotional trauma” that night, saying in a statement released this week, “I am a victim and have spent the last week trying to make sense of what happened on June 4.”
“I have little memory of that night, something bad obviously took place, which I understand is why production on the show has now been suspended and a producer on the show has filed a complaint against the production,” she continued. “As a woman, this is my worst nightmare and it has now become my reality.”
