Miles Teller Arrested for Public Drunkenness
Miles Teller was thrown into jail early Sunday morning (June 18, 2017) after failing to cooperate with San Diego police.
The Whiplash star was reportedly intoxicated when cops found him walking on a sidewalk around 12:30 a.m. in Pacific Beach. When authorities started questioning him about how much he had to drink, he became uncooperative and almost fell into a traffic lane, according to TMZ.
“He was drunk enough to not care for his own safety,” San Diego Police Department officer Billy Hernandez told NBC San Diego.
Authorities attempted to sober the actor up by taking him to a detox program ran by volunteers. When Miles refused and was rejected by the staff at the center for his behavior, police charged him with public drunkenness — a misdemeanor crime — and booked him into San Diego County Jail.
Mile was released approximately four hours later without bail.
