DMX Faces Jail Time for Tax Evasion Charges
DMX just surrendered himself to law enforcement officers on 14 counts of tax evasion.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in New York City, the rapper owes $1.7 million to the IRS after allegedly concealing his income for several years during the heights of his success. The indictment claims DMX listed his income as “unknown” in 2011 and 2012 and underreported his 2013 income — which was reportedly at $250,000 — as $10,000.

If DMX is convicted on all 14 counts, he is facing up to 44 years in federal prison.
DMX has been granted $500,000 bail, of which $50,000 will be paid in cash and personal property. Under the terms, he must get permission to travel out of New York, he has to submit to drug tests, and he cannot be in possession of a firearm.
