Ryan Seacrest to Host ‘American Idol’ Reboot
Ryan Seacrest will host American Idol once again!
The 42-year-old’s return to the singing competition was confirmed on Live With Kelly and Ryan Thursday morning. “Ryan Seacrest is returning as the host of American Idol!” co-host Kelly Ripa gushed.
Seacrest responded, “I am so excited. It’s gonna be the best time.”
In a separate statement, Seacrest — who acted as emcee on the original Fox series from 2002 to 2016 — expressed his excitement in working on ABC reboot of the series. He now joins Katy Perry on the revival.
“I believe ABC is the perfect home for Idol, and I’ve every confidence the show’s legions of fans will love it,” he said in a statement. “Especially Idol’s best traditions of showcasing heartwarming stories, remarkable talent discovery, and, best of all, making dreams come true.”
Aside from hosting Live in the morning, Seacrest also anchors his radio show, On Air with Ryan Seacrest, every weekday. When he’s not hosting, he executive produces a variety of TV series and specials, including Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Shades of Blue, Rob & Chyna, E!’s Live from the Red Carpet, and Life of Kylie.
