Adam Lambert’s Fans Are Toying With Him
Some musicians’ fans flick their lighters to show appreciation. Followers of American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert have a different approach.
Lambert tells E! Online that his ever-growing fanbase has taken to pelting him with sex toys when he takes the stage.
“Somebody threw onstage a red-leather tasseled whip,” Lambert says. “Yeah, and then the next night, I got one that was made out of, like, purple fur. It’s getting really S&M.”
And the whipa are far from the only naughty accessory that’s made it onto Lambert’s stage.
“I got some glow-in-the-dark handcuffs,” Lambert says. “It’s really getting creative. It’s exciting. I think they really want me to play with these toys during the number.”
So far, Lambert has resisted the urge to put the items to use while belting out his tunes.
“I’m not really into S&M, but it’s definitely tempting,” Lambert notes.
Go for it, Adam! You could bring new meaning to the term “whipping the crowd into a frenzy.”

Wow I think sex toys is an over statement. The fans are throwing fluffly little whips and underware not dildos (thank goodness). Adam is just so sexy and gorgeous his fans love him. Adam has a voice from heaven and an unbelieveable stage presence and people are excited to see someone with the “IT” factor. A performer/singer this exciting has been lacking for a while and Adam has it all!!
Guess that kid that went to see the show will have lots of questions…hope the ‘rents have their explanations ready.
While it isn’t Adam’s fault peeps are doing these things he certainly isn’t discouraging it in his statements either. That sh*t is best left for his OWN show and not at a show that others have come to see his fellow performers at, or even to see him; AI shows should be more of a safe zone, it’s expected, and while giving it some edge is all well and good, S/M should stay off the stage. Do that sh*t in your own show, where the people coming KNOW that’s what will likely happen.
Shame on those throwing that sh*t up there…have some couth and awareness of time and place.

And for the record, I’m not a prude, I just think there’s a time and place for all that stuff and it ain’t in front of the kiddies there to see those they voted for, even if the one they idolize is Adam. It’s too much.

I was just thinking how inaccurate that is!! He always whips himself with the cat o nine tails and twirls the bras around. It’s sexy and awesome what he does with the whip during “Fame”. I was at the concert the other night and it’s very hot.
As long as these “sex” toys are harmless (which they are) why should anyone be offended or even worried (not in front of the kids)? Children know a lot more than some parents think but just don’t let on in front of them. And the ones that don’t won’t even know what they are for. It’s no BIG DEAL and everyone seems to enjoy ADAM’S reaction…just NOT during the BALLADS, PLEASE!!

People are throwing hand cuffs and fabric-like whips, that’s all so far. Chances are, if your children are not precocious, they will not even know what the deal is unless you tip them off with your caught-off guard type of reaction. Gosh, that kind of stuff even went over my head when I was in my early twenties. Get a grip man.
I wouldn’t call those sex toys in the true sense. Seems like just a way to over sensationalize the whole thing….

I remember my mother telling me that fans of Tom Jones did this all the time. I was just a kid, and I thought it was funny even way back then. That was way before cable, the internet and video games. Like Tom Jones and Elvis, Adam Lambert is a talented, gorgeous guy,and his fans are having a great time at the concert. No need to over analyze it. It was just for fun then, and it’s just for fun now.

Actually, that WAS a dildo that someone threw onstage at one performance and Adam never missed a beat or note, but gave the “item” an awesome soccor kick into outer space! LOL! He wasn’t so angry afterwards but at the time, he was a bit P.O.d that it hit him in the knees. He has said that it can hurt him if something hits him in the face and he also said “I mean, come on guys, I’m trying to sing”…but all in all, he was very gracious….I would have been furious!
