Looks like New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez is coming out swinging in his ongoing divorce proceedings from wife Cynthia.
The New York Daily News reports that the bat-wielder and rumored Madonna paramour is pushing hard for their prenuptial agreement to be enforced. He is also seeking to have all allegations of his infidelity taken off the record.
Dang; and some judge somewhere was no doubt looking forward to privately screening a Madonna/A-Rod sex tape in his chambers.
Rodriguez admits that their marriage is "irretrievably broken."
But he claims that, since the case is being handled in Florida, a no-fault state, allegations that his "extramarital affairs and other marital misconduct" played a part in the split are "immaterial and impertinent and should be stricken" from the record.
Rodriguez's wife, meanwhile, wants the couple's $12 million waterfront estate and "equitable distribution" of any assets acquired during their union—including, presumably, the $275 million that A-Rod scored from the Yankees in his latest contract.
A-Rod's attorney, Alan Kluger, commented, "This is a tough time for both of them and they prefer to handle this matter as privately and amicably as possible."
For the sake of the celebrity-gossip world, let's hope that he's lying.

He's gonna get taken to the cleaners. Which is good, because the guy seems like he stinks.
