How do you get to the American Music Awards? Practice, practice, practice.
Performers and nominees began descending on the Nokia Theater L.A. Live in Los Angeles yesterday to prep for their appearances on the 2008 edition of the American Music Awards, which will be hosted by funny-guy Jimmy Kimmel.
Rihanna took the stage in lumberjack chic, which will no doubt be exchanged for something more eye-catching for Sunday's broadcast—the 20-year-old, Barbados-born singer is up for two awards, Favorite Female Artist: Pop or Rock Music and Favorite Female Artist: Soul/Rhythm & Blues Music.
Ri-Ri's good buddy, Chris Brown, was also at the theater yesterday for rehearsals. The 19-year-old is hoping to score in the Favorite Male Artist: Pop or Rock Music and Favorite Male Artist: Soul/Rhythm & Blues Music categories.
The two were joined by 26-year-old British songbird Natasha Bedingfield, of "I Wanna Have Your Babies" fame. Though she's not up for any awards, Bedingfield's forthrightness is to be applauded.
The 2008 American Music Awards air on ABC Sunday night, starting at 8 p.m./7 p.m. central. Good luck, everybody!
