The American Music Awards have concluded for yet another year, rewarding the music industry’s best and brightest for a job well done.
Capping an already spectacular professional year, Fearless singer Taylor Swift picked up a handful of trophies, including the highly coveted Artist of the Year award.

Taylor Swift totally deserved the awards that she won because she writes all her songs, she has a great voice with a great stage presance and is involved in what goes on all of her videos. As a 19 year old girl she is amazingly talented and has worked her ass off to get where she is. She not like Britney Spears who got famous from being half naked, Taylor used pure talent and good sense.Sorry if you don’t like country, but I like all genres of music and I think Taylor Swift ROCKS!!!!!!!!

I don’t think Taylor Swift deserves an of the awards she’s won – she’s written two songs, one where she wishes she had a boyfriend and one where her boyfriend breaks up with her. It’s all unoriginal recycled material, but she targets the tween audience, and it’s definitely a successful strategy (look at all the twilight hype). Artists like her are given so much unworthy credit when it could be generic bubblegum blond being the face of their music, while artists with more talent and originality don’t get the recognition they deserve. She has a smart market strategy though, so congrats to her publicist.
