Amy Sedaris Gets Bookish at Borders

Funny lady Amy Sedaris signed copies of her hilarious cooking and lifestyle guide, I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence, at New York City’s Columbus Circle Borders bookstore on Tuesday.

The satirical tome was originally released in hardcover edition in 2006. It got a softcover launch this past October.

“I don’t consider myself a domestic expert,” Sedaris, 47, told Instinct upon I Like You‘s initial debut. “[My book is] more about practical stuff, like using your shower rod to hold coats if you don’t have any room in your apartment, or using your ironing board as a minibar.”

Well, in case anyone was stuck on holiday gift ideas for Kevin Federline

Meanwhile, Amy is currently developing a new sitcom with 20th Century Fox TV and David Letterman‘s Worldwide Pants production company.

Here’s hoping it’s as quirky and over-the-top as Sedaris’ 1999-2000 Comedy Central series, Strangers with Candy, which co-starred Paul Dinello and The Colbert Report‘s Stephen Colbert.

Because the world could really use a little more Amy Sedaris in it.

After all, as her Strangers character Jerri Blank famously used to announce at the climax of each episode, “I’ve got something to say!”
