Amy Winehouse Bows Out of Coachella

on Mar. 9, 2009 12:06 PM / 2 Comments

Amy Winehouse is saying, "No, no, no" to this year's Coachella festival. But not because she wants to.

MTV.com reports that 25-year-old songstress/train wreck Winehouse has been forced to cancel a headlining show at the festival—which occurs in mid-April in Indio, California—because of a pending assault case.

Winehouse was charged with assault last week, stemming from a September 2008 incident in which she allegedly attacked a fan. The singer's rep, Chris Goodman, announced in a statement that his client "cannot go because of current legal issues" and that her "legal case would not be sorted out in time for her to make the music fest."

Winehouse is due in court on March 17. Presumably former fan Sherene Flash claims that the singer hit her in the eye after she asked Winehouse to pose for a picture with her at a September 26 concert.

Sorry, Wine-o fans; you'll just have to get by on this video of Amy performing "Rehab" at the 2007 Coachella festival:
