Amy Winehouse Fails at Rock in Rio
Don’t call it a comeback. Seriously, just don’t.
Anyone holding high hopes for Amy Winehouse‘s concert at the Rock in Rio festival had to have been shaking their heads in dismay as Wine-O turned her catalog of hits into a parade of misses.
On the plus side, she managed to show up—eventually.
The singer took the stage in Lisbon, Portugal, nearly an hour late, according to Access Hollywood, then rambled aimlessly into the microphone and danced like a drunk toddler while her backup band performed an interminable vamp.
The show, which took place in front of a crowd of 90,000 people, lasted 55 minutes before it mercifully came to an end, sans encore.
During that time, Winehouse—who sported curious cuts on her left arm and a bandage on her right—squawked through something resembling her hit song “Rehab” and a handful of soul and reggae numbers.
Her Grammy-winning voice cracked under the pressure of actual use.

Wow, hopefully she pulls herself together before her big gig at Nelson Mandela‘s 90th birthday celebration. Because while 27 years of imprisonment under apartheid might have failed to break Mandela, witnessing this crap might just cause him to hang himself with his own necktie.
