Angelina Jolie Will Shoot You
The still pregnant Angelina Jolie, in an interview with the U.K.'s Daily Mail, revealed that she owns a selection of firearms modeled after the guns she blazed in her Tomb Raider movies. And she's more than willing to use them.
The earth-mother-campaigning-for peace jig is up!
In the interview that took place during the Cannes Film Festival, Jolie says she and consort Brad Pitt keep the guns in their current house in France to protect their children.
In addition to pumping Changeling and Kung Fu Panda, Jolie was in Cannes promoting Wanted, in which she portrays a deadly assassin named (fittingly) Fox. "It's not the politically correct thing to say, but to jump around with guns—good guys and bad guys—it's always fun," she told reporters. (Check the new trailer down below.)
Yeah, it's all fun and games till somebody blasts you in the heart. "If anybody comes into my home and tries to hurt my kids, I've no problem shooting them," she said.
"Brad and I are not against having a gun in the house, and we do have one. And, yes, I'd be able to use it if I had to. There are certain combat skills that would come out. I tend to want to throw an elbow. I've learned all the punches, head butts and kicks—yet getting someone with my elbow is my first instinct."
If the paparazzi infringe on her territory, Random Guy with Camera #1 might be missing teeth via a pair of shapely yet deadly elbows.
She also wants her kids to know self-defense. "They're going to get into a fight someday, so they might as well learn how to take care of themselves," Jolie said, adding that she is making sure they all have a definite sense of right and wrong.
"It's just not a reality in this day and age to say, 'I'm never going to let my kids watch a movie that has a gun in it.' But I'm very clear with my children about who's a good guy and who's bad. If they're watching a movie at home, and they say, 'Is that a bad guy, Mummy?' I say, 'Well, is he trying to hurt somebody?' If you see somebody picking on a person or starting the fight, that's the bad guy."
Picking on a person, starting a fight or Jennifer Aniston is what she really wanted to say.
