Anna Paquin Talks True Blood Nude Scenes, Comparisons to Twilight
Everyone knows that HBO’s vampire drama True Blood is one sexy series, and Anna Paquin‘s willingness to bare herself for the camera plays no small part in that.
And to hear the woman who plays Sookie Stackhouse tell it, that won’t be ending anytime soon.
“I wouldn’t do [nude scenes] if it was too much,” Paquin tells AOL Television. “Everyone’s very respectful of the boundaries of whichever actor is doing stuff like that on set. So it’s not cameras being thrown anywhere and anything can happen, you know? It’s quite choreographed.”
Of course, it doesn’t hurt that she’s performing those scenes with her real-life partner, co-star Stephen Moyer.
“Obviously, if you’re already with that person then you’re not having to sort of get over the ‘Wow, I’m naked with someone that I don’t even know the middle name of!’” Paquin laughs. “I think that regardless of what kind of scene you’re doing, the better you know the person you’re working with and the more comfortable you are with them, the more open and real your performance can be. And that goes for stunt scenes and heavy emotional scenes and sex scenes. OK, so I have a little bit of a leg up in that particular area with my on-screen [partner].”
Paquin also discusses the constant comparisons between her show and Twilight, downplaying the similarities between the two just because they both feature a certain sub-species of the undead.
“It seems kind of funny…just because two things happen to end up being released around the same time, it’s not like we all got together beforehand and had a chat about how we’re going to make sure vampires had a comeback,” Paquin offers. “But from the way people ask about it, you’d think that we’d all had sort of a sit-down. But it’s coincidence, really [laughs].”
Hmm; guess the haters can suck on that. Or bite it. Or whatever the current insult among vamp-fans is these days.

Gap-toothed women are historically libidinous. The tale has been told throughout literary history.

oh please, the only reason you would even consider saying that is because you clearly have never seen True Blood, nor read any of Harris’ books. They are likely equally powerful but because Bill is not a whiny, self loathing drama queen, he’d win.
theres nothing to blow over. twilights better, the end=)
Two totally different stories meant for two totally different audiences. I love them both!

i’m sure once she’s “old” enough and her teeth settle she could do that cosmetic change if she chose. I think it has to do with letting her adult mouth mature before cosmetic dentistry comes into play. She is beautiful. This really is a lame discussion here.
Her teeth should be mature by now. I think she is in her mid to late twenties, right? But I agree, perfect teeth and faces are overrated. In the real world not everyone is a model. (Though I must say she is nothing like what I pictured Sookie would like from the books!)
True Blood ?….. twilights is better
OMG,The Anna Paquin is very ugly and horrible teeth are such that, for the love of God, is HBO could not have hired a better actress to interpret this series.
I guess teeth make for better acting? Why are her teeth so important, it makes her who she is. I think it’s cool she’s not worried about looking barbie doll perfect. And there is no comparision between TB and Twilight, they’re both awesome. Edward and Eric are hottness!!!!
She is so ugly.
I’m currently reading the Sookie Stackhouse series and it’s very evident that Stephenie Meyer completely RIPPED OFF Charlaine Harris. She needs to be sued!!!
The Sookie Stackouse books came out 5 years before Meyer even got her “idea.”
It’s amazing how cruel people are being about the gap in her teeth. So “American.” She looks natural and beautiful and real, not cap-toothed and botox. Maybe it’s just jealousy?

She’s not ugly, with the blonde hair she is kind of plain. I’m not trying to be mean. Anna looks so much hotter as a brunette.
forget her teeth. i can’t stand her nasty duck lips.
Anna Paquen is horrobly ugly. 28 year old, short, fat, but HBO guys like it all. Seems like they got her right from canadian mcdonalds branch. Paid her tickets, motel and wax.
I bet in the future it will be less and less good actresses, simply bc ugly once can do both bi, w/wt dogs, horses and rest of animal world, BUT major thing is the price. 5 for a dollar.
Her teeth don’t matter. She’s a really rubbish actor at playing Sookie. I’ve read the books and in the books she’s a souther woman with a hot temper to go with it.
But Anna makes her temper look like childish tantrums. She’s so annoying on the programme she almost kills it for me. Everyone else is great but she’s the main character so it spoils it a bit.
Looks and acting don’t reflect on one another, though it seems to draw audiences. Unfortunately in this poor girls case she wasn’t blessed in either department.
No comparison can really be made between different authors interpretation of creatures that seem to be able to live under different rules. I must admit the ‘Twilight’ vamps are the only one’s I’ve every read of that survive in sunlight. Although ‘Harris’s’ books are quite entertaining to read, its a shame the series didn’t follow the books better, and I enjoy the series equally so. But ‘Anne Rice’s’ vampires will always be a favourite. Sticking to the common belief that they kill and hunt to survive, mingling amongst the living unknown to those around them.
