Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama is enjoying the support of a star-studded group of Hollywood Democrats that includes glitzy activists like mink-eyelash lobbyist Jennifer Lopez, Scarlett Johansson and Anne Hathaway.
However, the star of The Devil Wears Prada wasn't won over quite as easily as Obama's long-time e-mail buddy ScarJo. In an interview at the Democratic convention in Denver, Hathaway revealed that she was initially "afraid of Obama."
The ruby-lippped starlet said, "I thought, I've been burned by guys like you before. I've been burned by politicians before that I wanted to believe in and just didn't live up to it."
The earnest actress, whose ex-boyfriend was recently pinched by the feds on fraud charges, said that she slowly learned to trust again. Hathaway explains, "I just said, 'I can't deny how I feel about you, Barack Obama. I want you in the White House.'"
Maybe this is just the sexism talking, but there are quite a few men who would like to smuggle their way into Anne's "White House."
