Anne Heche Is a Deadbeat Mom

You have to feel bad for Anne Heche's kid.

First of all, his mom is Anne Heche.

Secondly, it looks like he's going to get screwed out of child support. At least temporarily.

The star of the recently canceled Men in Trees appeared in a Los Angeles court yesterday, where a judge granted her a reprieve from the $15,000 child and spousal support payment she was due to make for son Homer and ex-husband, Coleman Laffoon, in July.

Heche claims that, since Men in Trees was axed, she has been unable to find more work and would be more than $6,000 in the hole if required to meet her obligations. (FUN FACT: The average American household carries approximately $8,000 in debt.)

In her court statement, Heche noted that the only employment income she has received since January was for a short-term movie contract which netted her "$65,000, approximately the amount I received for one episode of Men in Trees."

Wow. From $65,000 an episode four months ago to poverty today? Sounds like Anne's grip on finances is as tenuous as her grip on reality. Her costar boy-toy James Tupper must be costing a pretty penny.

Maybe Heche could take a lesson from her meltdown in 2000 and moonlight as a door-to-door shower tester. It's not much, but these are tough times for everyone.

she's weird -- remember when she was all strung out on hallucinogens when she was dating EllenDeGeneres and randomly showed up at someones front door -- I think it was in some lame Cali town, like Fresno or something.
