Anne Heche Get$ a Break

Hey, pleading poverty works, even for rich people. And Anne Heche is likely smiling at this very moment. Weeks after telling the court she could no longer afford to keep paying her ex Coley Laffoon nearly $15,000 in alimony and child support because her show had gotten the ax, a judge has agreed.

"Since January 18," the known-for-crazy actress wrote in her court petition, "I have been unemployed and had no income, except for one very short-term contract for a movie role for which I received a total of $65,000, approximately the amount I received for one episode of Men in Trees."

Woe is Anne, eh? What, she can't borrow a few bucks from Celestia for the sake of her kid?

Well, damed if the court didn't cut her the slack she was seeking, ordering a lump payment of $275,000 to Laffoon and $3,700 per month for their six-year-old son, Homer. She'll pay for 75 percent of the boy's private-school tuition and half of his "agreed-upon extracurricular activities."

Hope she won't shirk her own over-and-above activities, like Men in Trees boy-toy costar James Tupper, who reportedly left his wife just as love blossomed with Heche. She'll need all her spare change for that.

amazing... i've never heard of a celebrity being broke. i'm sure a ton of us can live off of the money she has for the rest of our lives.
