Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is just a simple gal at heart!

Despite her bun being a bit over-cooked, famous friends and family gathered on Sunday at the swanky Hotel Bel Air in Los Angeles to throw a baby shower for Ash (with husband Pete Wentz the absent benefactor).

Some down home chicken and mashed potatoes greeted guests like shopping mentor Nicole Richie (who brought little baby Harlow) and Emmy Rossum (yawn), who looked upon a "glowing and insanely happy" Simpson, according to People.

Naturally, sister Jessica was on hand to supervise the gift inventory (though perhaps she could've given herself the gift of staying inside Sunday night).

Ash's baby booty included bags from Kitson Kids as well as a teeny little snowboarding getup from Burton.
