Ashlee Simpson may be ready to pop, but she’s still ready to shop.

The mother-to-be went on a shoe-shopping excursion with Nicole Richie at Barneys New York in Beverly Hills Thursday. Presumably, the maternal pair picked out a more comfortable pair of kicks for Ash’s pregnancy-swollen feet. (What, she didn’t pick up a few thongs while she was at it?)

Abandoning her recent hippie-drippy look, Simpson seems to have gone back to her tried-and-true horizontal stripes (a bold move for a woman at her stage of expectancy). 

Looks like the two shopping buddies had a heart-to-heart while they were at it. Did Nicole pass along the secret to slimming back down in record time after giving birth?
