That Ashlee Simpson sure is a sneaky mother-to-be.

Pete Wentz's baby-bumping singer/spouse emerged from pap-happy eatery the Ivy Restaurant Monday, clutching a pamphlet for an organization called Citizens for Our Betterment.

The group's Web site declares, "Our future is now. It is in your hands. Have you ever asked yourself: why, why, why won't the world revolve around me. Now it can. At Citizens for our Betterment we'll fight for you, please fight for us on November fourth 2008."

Hmm; November 4, 2008. Election Day. Has Simpson developed a radical political bent?

But wait. A thread on Absolute Punk's message board suggests that the Citizens for Our Betterment site is a hack on the Internet home of Decaydance Records—coincidentally, Pete Wentz's label.

Hmm; this is starting to smell kind of fishy.

Perhaps the video below of Ashlee leaving the Ivy with the pamphlet will shed some light on the subject.

Hmm; well, that doesn't seem to have helped at all. Guess the world will have to wait until November 4 to find out exactly what's going on here. In the meantime, it might be wise to stock up on canned goods and firearms.

i think it's kind of hilarious about all of this since there was such a long trail of clues. But also very clever on FOB's part because they really got the fans involved.
