Avril Lavigne to Guest-Judge American Idol

The list of celebrities to guest-judge on this season of American Idol just got longer by one.

EW.com reports that "Sk8er Boi" singer Avril Lavigne will critique aspiring Idols on the show when it holds its callback auditions in Los Angeles.

Lavigne will reportedly split these duties with "I Kissed a Girl" songbird Katy Perry, with each of them spending a day on the judges' panel.

So far a slew of celebs have signed on to temporarily fill the vacancy left by departed Idol judge Paula Abdul, including Victoria Beckham, Mary J. Blige, Neil Patrick Harris, Shania Twain, Kristen Chenoweth and Joe Jonas.

Doogie Houser and Posh Spice as guest judges? Yeah okay Neil Patrick Harris has some Broadway in him but Victoria Beckham has never been one to sing well, or know anything about it. Seriously, If you're going to be a Guest Judge atleast know something about the music business other than just to pose and pretend to sing, yeah? and Avril Lavigne? what was the last hit she had out? Is the economy that bad that all these out of work "rockstars" have to come out of hiding and hard partying to make a quick buck this way? Get Paula back and ditch Kara

Avril Lavigne was actually The Best Selling Female Artist in the World in 2007, the last time she released an album according to WorldWideAlbums.net, â2007 Yea r Endâ, results.

Avril Lavign e & Alicia Keys were Sony BMG/RC Aâs best selling artists in 2007, Avril has also sold over 30 Million lbums since 2002 by the time she turned 23, so please donât t ry and tell me that Avril is not still relevant.
