Happy Birthday, Betty White!

In 1985, Betty scored the biggest hit of her career: the role of Rose Nylund on The Golden Girls. The incredibly successful show ran for seven years, with over 100 episodes shot. And, of course, audiences fell in love with Betty all over again. She won an Emmy for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series for her stellar performance in the show’s first season, and was nominated for the award every year during the show’s run. A little known, fun fact? Betty was originally offered the role of Blanche, but the director suggested she take on Rose because Blanche was too similar to characters she had played in the past.
