The World Music Awards were held in Monte Carlo, Monaco last night. The event will be televised on December 2.

The WMAs honor recording artists based on world-wide sales figures.

Beyoncé opened the shindig with a performance of "Single Ladies," a single off her upcoming album I Am...Sasha Fierce.

Snapped arriving at the awards ceremony were Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon (who thankfully opted for classier attire than they've been caught in recently).

Also in attendance were Akon and VH1 Black Girls Rock! honoree Estelle. Check out all the stars at the WMAs in the gallery!

  • Leona Lewis, World's Best Female Pop Artist
  • Amy Winehouse, World's Best Female Rock/Pop Artist
  • Kid Rock, World's Best Male Pop Artist
  • Alicia Keys, World's Best R&B Artist
  • Lil Wayne, World's Best Rap/Hip-Hop Artist
  • Ringo Starr, Diamond Award (honoring artists who've sold more than 100 million albums)
