Beyonce might have deserved the praise she received during Kanye West's mic-yanking rant at the MTV Video Music Awards — but that doesn't mean she liked it.
The "Single Ladies" and "Halo" songbird, making her first comments about West's interruption of Taylor Swift's acceptance speech on the program, said she was embarrassed by his antics.
On Friday at Billboard magazine's annual Women In Music event, Beyoncé told O: The Oprah Magazine editor Gayle King:
"Well, I knew his intentions, and I knew he was standing up for art; and he told me before, when they said the nominees, he's like, 'You have this award,'"... "And when they didn't call my name he was, like, completely shocked. And when he walked on the stage, I was like, 'No, no, no!' and then he spoke, and I was like, 'Oh, no, no, no!'
"But in the end, it ended up being a great night, and Taylor Swift did get her moment," Beyonce continued. "And I didn't have to make an acceptance speech."
Kanye certainly seems to have paid a price — his tour with Lady Gaga was just canceled.

OMG!!....I smell a Grudge...Tromba's dream obviously wasn't realised. The only thing wrong with what Kanye did was his timing. He did what almost all the people in the building didn't had the gust to do. How can you award a generic video like " You Belong to Me" over "Single Ladies". I can bet you , that sh*t will never happen again.

There is a difference between lacking the "guts" to do something, and having enough class to know you shouldn't. Kanye West lacks class. Beyonce doesn't owe anyone anything...she didn't wrong anyone, and of course she likes the attention from Kanye or anyone else. She is a celebrity.

I agree, I didn't see what was so special about the video that it deserved all the hoopla. It was just another video where another "singer" is selling their sexuality....nothing more.
I think that she is talking about the Kanye situation again to take the focus off the fact that her father is now being accused of having a love child with another woman. The other woman has filled out court papers- so what not a better way to get people's minds off of that- then talk about Kanye. I wish people would just let this die and move on. The Kanye story is sooooo old now.
