Beyonce Was in no Rush to Tie the Knot
Beyonce spoke to Seventeen magazine about her wedding to hip-hop mogul Jay-Z.
Knowles, 27, who has been extremely quiet about the subject of her marriage, reveals why she waited eight years before tying the knot with the man she began dating at 19.
“I feel like you have to get to know yourself, know what you want, spend some time by yourself,” says the singer. “Be proud of who you are before you can share that with someone else.”
Knowles is the busiest star in the biz lately with a movie (Cadillac Records), a double cd (I Am…Sasha Fierce) and a new version of her fashion line (House of Dereon) coming out.
She and “Hova” were married this past April in an intimate ceremony before 40 friends and family at their penthouse in New York City. Guests included Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams from Beyonce’s former girl group Destiny’s Child, and Gwyneth Paltrow.
And what has “Sasha Fierce”, the theatrical alter ego Beyonce adopted for her new album, learned from her husband?
“That we’re all human. I don’t care if you’re the most handsome, successful, coolest guy,” she says. “You still get sad, and you still get your feelings hurt, and you still get confused and vulnerable and nervous and scared. You have to find a person you can make it through the tough times with.”
Sounds like she’s found him.
