Spotted: Serena Van Der Woodsen...fleeing set?

True in the case of Blake Lively, who had a very close call with her father's fate yesterday.

The gorgeous blonde, star of the CW's unstoppable Gossip Girl, fled New York City when she learned of an auto accident involving dad Ernie in Los Angeles.

"It was a horrific accident," Blake's mom Elaine told Us Magazine, "he was on his way to the set of Criminal Minds, and he swerved to miss a car, and his car tumbled down an embankment."

Ernie, a fellow actor who also starred beside Blake in her Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants franchise, is said to have suffered back injuries and damage to his lungs.

"Blake is here, the whole family is here, and yesterday it didn't look good," the worried mother and wife said, "but thankfully, now we have been told he is going to make a full recovery. It's all been taken care of."

Mr. Lively does not yet have an expected release date from the undisclosed hospital.
