The last time there was this much anticipation for a birth, a trio of guys rode camels through the desert bearing gifts.

According to multiple reports, Angelina Jolie's obstetrician, Dr. Michel Sussmann, will be holding a press conference this afternoon.

About what, it's not sure, but it will be baby-related.

Jolie checked into the Lenval hospital on the French Riviera this morning, and baby daddy Brad Pitt rushed to her side carrying a couple of kids shortly thereafter, sparking mass speculation that the stork is finally ready to touch down.

Of course, there have been false reports already. She's had the babies, then she hasn't. 

At this point, it would really suck if Jolie showed up at the press conference, squatted down, dropped a watermelon from between her legs and bellowed, "You've been punked!"

UPDATE: Mon dieu! The French special delivery of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's all-American twins is still a no-go. "She still has at least two or three weeks...and she'll most certainly be staying in the hospital until after she gives birth," obstetrician Michel Sussmann said to the gathered throngs.

"Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have asked us to let you know that she's very well. It isn't an emergency, it's completely planned. We're not talking about a premature birth."

As for having to stay put for the final lap of the pregnancy race, guess Ang is taking it well. "She's a very good patient," the doc said.

Odds are she's appreciating the rest.

“A French magazine is reporting that Angelina has really popped and delivered her twins this morning. Closer says that the actress went into labor yesterday and headed to the hospital with boyfriend Brad Pitt last night.

Another report was released in late May that Angelina had given birth, but the rumors were later denied by the Jolie-Pitts, so I wouldn't be to sure of this one. It could be the fake assistant striking again!

It was wrongly reported in May that the star had given birth, so many are believing this is just round two of many false reports, especially as it was initially leaked she was due on August 19th. But keep clicking back for further updates, in case this time, Jolie and Brad really have welcomed some new bundles of joy.

Just Jared is reporting that Angelina Jolie might have given birth to her twins earlier today at a hospital in France.

I'm not sure if it's true or not, but if it is, let's hope that Brad Pitt and Angie are not planning to call their twins Castor and Pollox like it was reported before.

    In a supreme twist of irony, they'll give the twins up for adoption. And they'll then be adopted by Madonna.
