Breaking Dawn’s Birth Scene Will Probably Be Gore-Free
The good news: It looks like Breaking Dawn will definitely include a birth scene.
The bad news: It will probably turn out to be a lot tamer than a lot of Twi-hards would prefer.
Eclipse producer Wyck Godfrey recently sat down with FEARnet to discuss the upcoming final installment of the Twilight saga, which begins filming in November, and it appears that gore fanatics might be disappointed with how the book’s most infamous scene will play out on the big screen:
“I think the one thing that we’ve done that we’ve really done in all the films is keep them very subjective and keep them from Bella’s point of view. So the conversations we’ve had with [director] Bill [Condon], is that we’ll try to do something similar here; you’re with Bella’s perspective and her point of view of what’s taking place in the rush around her, as she’s in intense pain. Not so focused, objectively, on her body and his body and that. So I think it’ll be something like that, in terms of trying to make the audience experience and feel the confusion, almost, of what’s happening to her.”
So…no close-ups of a bloody-fanged Edward Cullen performing an oral C-section, then? Well, at least we know we won’t be gagging on our popcorn.

that’s NOT fair!!!! I WANNA SEE BLOOD!!! I WANNA SEE HER BONES BREAKING, HER EYES EXPLODING, DROWNING IN HER OWN BLOOD AND HER BODY WRITHING IN PAIN JUST LIKE IN THE BOOK!!!
Ãt´s fine that is not gonna be a bloody scene, but you know.. it´s a human giving birth to a vampire…
I can see where your coming from I think it well be ok WE really dont need that much blood BUT WE DO NEED SOME in the books you read about the blood so a little would be nice
the point of view in the book during the birth scene was from Jacob. HE witnessed all the blood and gore, they should stick to the book.
I hope they just try to stay as close to the book as possible!
we dont really need 2 c much blood,..its okay,,..am cool with it,..buh i wana c bella changin,..Edward sayin Bella can u squeeze my hand, uno, thngs lyk dat,..its fine,..so far deres gona b birth scene,..
Oh come on! I’ve been looking forward to seeing that insanely stupid, crazy scene ever since I read that ghastly book. You can’t let us down by not showing Robert Pattinson chewing open Kristen Stewart’s stomach! Especially since I hate stewart.
Oh wait, then they couldn’t milk maximum money from the shrieking thirteen-year-olds.
NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was the only reason I was going to watch that movie.
=(
How will I live with this news.
It’s a book about vampires. Saying you don’t want to see blood is kind of dumb.

But that’s just it, it’s NOT a book about vampires. It’s a book about hot guys who fawn over some random girl for no real reason. The supernatural aspects are just window dressing.
i really wanna see blood and lots of it! it’s vampire movie, guys! it should have a LOT of blood!
btw, who edited the picture?? kristen looks great!lol
wait ! the birth well be fro who ?!
Achie legal ter colocado aa sena, conserteza é mais esperada do filme, tbm espero que seja bem feito pois o mundo da tecnologia é muito util para essas coisas =)
this scene should be in the movie…maybe not exacly the same but shuld be in the movie…what for making movie with out key scenes like birth Renesmee or love scene between Bella and Edward…they should be in the movie…short but should be
They don’t have fangs. You can always tell when a writer is ignorant about their subject. Come on, do you homework. That way when you’re trying to appear superior, you might be able to pull it off.
they need to stick to the book and as much as possible so there has to be blood. i don’t care if the movie is rated R becuase of it. the books aren’t really meant for young teens who are 13 or 14 anyway. its a young adult book meaning its for 17 and older.

I KNOW!!!
awww dat suxx. i wanted her to b wit jacob
This was the only part in the book I didn’t like at all. Steph Meyer failed to draw her most important hero (Bella) in a realistic way and so she totally lost her character during her pregnancy scenes. And it wasn’t because of the change of the point of view: from the honeymoon scene Bella was no longer the Bella we had known. You can say she was developing but to be honest, her maturing wasn’t well explained at all. It was the worst character-building ever!
With this fact being known, I’d say they should leave her be and rush to the more action-filled scenes. The movies are for the fans, everyone knows that, so people who are interested in it know the story well enough to skip some character-destructing sub-plots. If they focused on the action more, maybe the non-Twi fan movie-goers would enjoy the movie. Just a thought.
BTW, can you imagine the movie without that scene? I can. No big deal.

YES! I WANNA SEE BLOOD!! IF WE DON’T SEE THAT, THE FILM WILL BE A sh*t!
I think making this scene from Bella’s perspective is a better idea because if it would be from Jacob perspective it would be really horror movie-esque. I mean, it would be really disgusting, Edward cutting Bella’s stomach and everything.

O.o That description actually makes me want to read the book. Now there’s something I didn’t think I’d ever say about anything from Stephenie Meyer.
Seriously though, that was the ONLY reason I was going to see Breaking Dawn. Now I’m sad.

What’s worse, John is that they talk that way, too.

You “hate” Stewart……get over your issues. You don’t even know her. There are so many immature idiots on this board.
the baby is goin to be faggot
What do you mean by that? Is there a problem?
um hello…if your old enough to read the books, or if your allowed to read them, then the movie is no different…i want to see edward with placenta running down his face! i want the movie to be exact to the book! its our last one guys! make it go out with a bang!
If the director wants to stick to the book, he should read it again, because apparently he forgot that a book is divided in three parts, two of bella and one of jacob. I also want to see the story by the point of view of Jacob: the birth scene, his scenes with leah, his story with renesmee… At least, that would be the movie I’d like to see, and I think I’m not the only one
There needs to be blood DAMMIT!
It is a vampire freakin movie after all!
Jeez…it really is a crappy series now.
That’s the only thing lacking in these movies BLOOD AND GORE!!!!! FFS!
Well that just sucks! i wanted to see blood and guts every where! =(
I am reading the Breaking dawn……. it is really interesting n the description of Bella’s baby is very well…….. it fells like ur r actually looking at her(the baby)!!
Its a very good book I think u are going to enjoy the whole book I have read it 3 times..the only thing when ur done reading it, it leaves u wanting more lol
What happens to Bella during the birthing is the soul purpose for Edward having to change her. If the screenwriter/director decide to downplay this scene it will certainly ruin the movie. Why even see it.

Haha, a vampire movie? You really think this is a vampire movie? You want blood and gore go see a real vampire movie like From Dusk Till Dawn or Lost Boys or Near Dark. Twilight is just some badly written romance novel meant to make money from people who’s lives are lacking something real.
Pretty sad people are going just to see that…
How sickening that the movie franchise feels like it needs to coddle the “children” who shouldn’t even be going to see this movie in the first place. The subject matter, especially in Breaking Dawn, is NOT FOR CHILDREN. If they plan on no gore, I imagine the birthing scene will be done through Bella’s eyes…..and we will see her blacking out right before the really bad stuff……the room will be blurry/fuzzy and we will hear more “voices” rather than what is actually happening. I don’t see how they can do it any other way without gore.

That is one of the dumbest things I have heard all week. Just because people read or see Twilight doesn’t mean they are lacking something real in their lives. Maybe you are lacking something in your life that you feel the need to ridicule someone’s taste in film/books.
In Breaking Dawn the birthing scene was from Jacob’s point of view not Bella’s. So that makes no sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
but in the book, that scene is happening through jacob’s perspective….

hahahaha worrrrd
like OMG, like oMG o.O, Edward is so like my you know, dream guy, like you know, like, like, Shriek of a tween activated.
I can’t believe people still type like this.
amen john! i thought the same thing
I thought it was from Jacobs point of view!!!! I hope they even focus on Jacobs point of view in general. He is narrating half of the freaking book. What makes that part of the book sooo cool is you feel so bad for Jacob hearing belles heart stop and then hearing another faster heart beat and then BAM!I loooved that part of the book. Sigh oh well.. I ‘ll still go see it cuz its what we do. Watch the stupid movie even if it sucks
I think its really nonsense to keep BLOOD out of a VAMPIRE story but anyway if they´re gonna make me sense how bella is feeling it´s ok then… we´ll at least I hope they do make the biting scene as it is in the book..!!
NO! During the birth scene it’s JACOBS POV, NOT BELLA’S!
WHAT?!?!?!?!?! why not UGHHHHHH so frustrating….they can’t end these movies without the full fan experience and i think that means (abd a lot of people agree) is to incorporate the book as much as possible AND NOT GET RID OF SUCH A SIGNIFICANT SCENE!! ugh hollywood
NO! During the birth scene it’s JACOBS POV, NOT BELLA’S!
I KNOW!! it switches between them MAN these people
i don’t know how they are going to pull it off enough to please fans but enough to get a PG-13 rating
