Bret Michaels May Move From Hospital Bed to Simon Cowell's Chair
Bret Michaels now has even more incentive to recuperate from his recent health woes.
The Poison frontman, who performed "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" on this week's American Idol season finale, is in contention to replace departing Idol judge Simon Cowell next season—and he has the blessings of Cowell himself.
Following Michaels' performance, the usually cantankerous Cowell gushed,
"Actually, he'd be good. He's funny. He's got experience. He'd be a good choice - and you saw the audience reaction to him. They love him."
Michaels himself seems more than happy to take up the challenge—provided his physical recovery (the singer has been hospitalized multiple times this year, most recently for a "warning stroke") goes as planned:
"I'm sorry he (Cowell) has to go but sometimes things happen. Provided my health holds up, I think I'm taking that chair next year!"
