Bret Michaels apparently suffered more than a bruised ego at Sunday's Tony Awards.
The Poison frontman, who was clobbered by a descending set piece after performing at the Tonys. has taken to MySpace to show off his battle scars. Looks like he took it pretty good on the nose and the lower lip.
Earlier this week, Janna Elias, a spokesperson for the Rock of Love star issued a statement condemning the Tonys for making light of the incident during the broadcast. (Host Neil Patrick Harris cracked that the incident "gave headbanging a new meaning.")
"I find it surprising that a Tony spokesperson would brush off this incident with a comment stating 'Mr. Michaels missed his mark' with no mention of concern for his condition," Elias huffed. "If everyone at the Tonys [was] aware that Bret missed his mark, then they should have been aware enough to stop the set piece from hitting him or at least slowed it down until he cleared the stage. I feel had this incident happened to Liza Minnelli, Dolly Parton or Elton John, the Tonys would have at least issued a letter of concern."

I think if he stopped wearing that wig and silly bandana, people may take him seriously enough to care weather he was hurt...or dead.
He's not wearing a wig. He has some hair extensions. Give the guy a break. He's a good guy and he works and plays hard. I'm glad he was injured anymore seriously than he was. What he chooses to wear to make himself look better is his business and has nothing to do with anything. He is a very successful person who deserves kudos. What have you done lately writer?
Geez, Bret, you didn't have to show us the herpes sore under your lip while you were at it.
LIza Minelli, etc. never would have incurred that injury because they know the rules of working in a theater: follow your blocking, and never, ever walk in the way of a moving set piece. this prevents exactly this kind of incident. the technical crew can't always slow down or stop in time. it's his own damn fault.
