Britney Spears Camp Kicks Rowdy Roadies to the Curb
Let it be known: Britney Spears frowns upon drunken, rowdy shenanigans among her roadies.
Spears' official Web site released a statement today condemning the alleged actions of Rockey Lee Dickey Jr. and Alex Montes, who were arrested in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania yesterday after reportedly getting hammered and tussling with police. Prior to their arrests, Dickey and Montes had been contract road-crew members on Spears' Circus tour.
"Last night two employees of a company contracted to provide equipment for The Circus starring Britney Spears tour were arrested in Pittsburgh, PA," the statement reads. "However, neither of the men involved are employees of the tour or Ms. Spears. The two individuals have since been dismissed by their employer. The Circus Starring Britney Spears tour does not support or tolerate this type of behavior."
According to police, Dickey was hitting another man when they approached the pair. Dickey allegedly knocked the hat off of one of the police officers as he approached. Montes, meanwhile, is said to have jumped in to prevent the cops from taking Dickey away, putting one of the officers in a headlock.
Both men had "very strong odors of alcohol, slurred speech, and bloodshot eyes," according to a statement released by the Pittsburgh Police Department.
Dickey and Montes were both charged with aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, simple assault and public drunkenness.
So there it is; if you want to work with Britney Spears, um, don't do that.
Walking around looking like you just stepped out of an S&M dungeon, however? That's still permissible.
