This is turning out to be a disastrous week for celebrity relationships. First Kate Winslet announced her split with husband Sam Mendes. Then Jennifer Love Hewitt‘s seemingly fairytale romance with Jamie Kennedy came to an end. Then there’s that whole Sandra Bullock thing.

And now Britney Spears and her boyfriend/manager Jason Trawick have called it quits, according to E! Online. What? How could this seemingly unshakable relationship come crashing down? A source squeals that the couple, who were last seen together celebrating Valentine’s Day at a McDonald’s drive-thru, hit a rough patch that they just couldn’t dig their way out of:

“They were fighting a lot and have not been getting along…They both just needed to take a break from each other. It wasn’t working out.”

The source did not reveal whether the arguments were directly related to the fact that they spent Valentine’s Day at a McDonald’s drive-thru.

On the plus side, William Morris Agency, the talent agency that Trawick works for, confirms that he’s still representing the “Womanizer” singer. Which shouldn’t make things awkward at all.

In other news, that wasn’t another earthquake that Los Angeles experienced this morning; it was just the tumult caused by a newly thinned-down Kevin Federline rushing to the store to pick up a dozen roses and a box of chocolates.
