Britney Spears Gets a Piece of the VMAs

Britney Spears might have gotten screwed out of an Emmy nomination, but there’s still some love for her at MTV.

The singer snagged a Best Female Video nomination for this year’s Video Music Awards, which will be aired live on September 7.

Brit-Brit’s paparazzi-parodying video “Piece of Me” got the nod largely thanks to fans who voted in droves to nominate her.

Or maybe they’re just gawkers hoping that Spears will do something spectacularly insane during the broadcast, like attack host Russell Brand with an umbrella or set her own face on fire.

Either way, best of luck, Britney! And to you too, gawkers! May all of your dreams come true!
