Brittany Murphy's Mother Writing a Tell-All Book
Nearly a year after Brittany Murphy's untimely passing in 2009 at the age of 32, the public still has many questions about the circumstances surrounding her death. And now Murphy's mother, Sharon Murphy, will have an opportunity to address them on her own terms.
Radar Online reports that the elder Murphy is penning a tell-all book about the life and death of the Girl, Interrupted actress, which will hopefully clear the air and put an end to all of the speculation. According to the biographer-to-be,
“This book will be my way of celebrating and honoring her extraordinary life and career...Brittany was a kind, loving person who enjoyed each day; she was my life. I am looking forward to everyone reading the accurate account about my daughter, her life, loves and career.”
Though Murphy's autopsy noted that there were no illegal drugs in the actress' system at the time of her death, rumors have swirled that Murphy, along with husband Simon Monjack—who himself passed away this May, also of acute pneumonia and severe anemia—might have abused prescription drugs. The elder Murphy's unusual relationship with Monjack has also led to eyebrow-raising scuttlebutt, including reports that the two shared the same bed in the months following Brittany's death.
In addition to setting the record straight, Murphy notes that the book will have a philanthropic aspect as well:
“A portion of the proceeds that I receive from the book will be donated to charity."
