Sacha Baron Cohen's gay Austrian fashionista character Bruno might not be everybody's cup of tea, but enough people went to go see his movie over the weekend to make it the top box-office draw.

The New York Times reports that Bruno raked in estimated ticket sales of $30.4 over the weekend, beating out Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, among others.

While seemingly good news, it still remains to be seen how Bruno will compare commercially to Cohen's last comedic epic, 2006's Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. While, technically, Bruno out-grossed Borat (in more ways than one), several factors need to be taken into consideration. Borat took in $26.5 million on its opening weekend, which adjusted for inflation comes out to about $28 million—less than $2 million behind Bruno. Moreover, Bruno opened in 2,756 theaters, more than triple the number of theaters Borat opened in.

Broken down into per-theater numbers, Bruno took in $11,040 over the weekend—compared to Borat's average of  $31,607.
